The last two years for fans of the University of Georgia Bulldogs have been like a dream they don’t want to wake up from. If you’re familiar with Georgia Bulldogs football then the accompaniment of disappointment goes hand in hand until two years ago. The arrival of Kirby Smart took Georgia from almost there to the promised land twice. The exit of Stetson Bennett and now the former offensive coordinator Todd Moniken may put some doubts in everyone’s mind or should it? Mike Bobo isn’t exactly some scrub off the corner of Milledge Ave. He started at UGA and played several seasons with Head coach Kirby Smart. While Bobo was there as a quarterback coach and later an offensive coordinator Georgia’s record was 135 wins and 48 losses. That includes 9 wins and 5 losses in bowl games during that time. Now with Bobo back he will likely be steering the offense with Carson Beck at the helm. In a way, Georgia is lucky to have a new QB1 and offensive coordinator coming in together. You better believe that Bobo & Beck will be surgically attached at the hip for a good long while until Beck gets a steady grasp of the playbook. Coaches and fans alike hope that is before September 16th when the Bulldogs host South Carolina. The question isn’t whether or not will Georgia be ok but their opponents. The likes of Bowers, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, and other standouts will be back at Georgia for the 2023 campaign. The “question” on everyone’s mind is “Can Georgia do it again?”. The Bulldog’s schedule for the upcoming year has three powder puff teams on schedule ( UT Martin, Ball State & UAB) . I’m not guessing, I’m telling you that there will be many who will cry about the schedule Georgia is playing with those teams on the board. But, the Bulldogs will have time to acquiesce to Bobo’s schemes before they get thrust into SEC play. Bobo is no slouch either, names like Aaron Murray, David Greene, and Matthew Stafford are all quarterbacks that developed under Bobo before. Can the Bulldogs get back to the championship game yet again? We’re all gonna find out but as of right now, Coach Smart has the primer for another successful run. Stetson or not, playing Them Dawgs is going to be hell. Go Dawgs!
